Job summary

Department of Conservation (DOC) is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join the Financial Transactions team for a six-month fixed term contract based in Wellington. This full-time role focuses on managing purchasing workflows, PO creation and amendments, and supporting the P2P process in SAP.

You will help with ticket queues, respond to supplier and internal inquiries, train colleagues on SAP and purchasing procedures, and maintain data accuracy to keep purchasing running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience with P2P in SAP or similar ERP system.
• Knowledge of purchasing principles and processes.
• Administrative and data-entry experience with high accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing workflows including creation and amendments to Purchase Orders.
• Manage the ticket queue and shared mailboxes for requests from the wider business.
• Provide support and training to the business around the P2P process and SAP.
• Respond to external queries regarding orders.
• Support the team with data maintenance in SAP.
