Job summary

DOC is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join the Financial Transactions team for a six-month fixed term contract in Wellington. You will manage purchasing workflows, create and amend Purchase Orders, and support SAP data maintenance.

You'll respond to external queries, assist with training around P2P processes, and help keep the ticket queue and shared mailboxes organized. A detail‑oriented communicator with SAP experience will fit well.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of P2P process in SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Knowledge of purchasing or procurement principles and processes.
• Administration and data entry experience with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively provide technical expertise.
• Able to build and maintain relationships with internal customers, peers, and external suppliers.
• Highly organized, and able to meet deadlines and deliver in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Computer savvy and a quick learner of software and technical systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing purchasing workflows including creation and amendments Purchase Orders.
• Managing the ticket queue and shared mailboxes for requests from the wider business.
• Providing support and training to the business around the P2P process and SAP.
• Responding to external queries regarding orders.
• Supporting the team with data maintenance in SAP.
