Qualifications

• Previous supervisory role in cleaning/public space maintenance.
• Experience leading a team.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices.
• Understanding health and safety regulations for public environments.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be on-site in Queenstown, Eastern Cape.
• Physically fit for manual tasks.
• Experience with waste management or horticultural practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a team responsible for cleaning and maintaining public spaces, including streets, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities.
• Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and maintenance plans.
• Ensure proper waste management and litter removal in designated areas.
• Oversee the use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and tools.
• Conduct regular inspections of public spaces to identify maintenance needs and ensure cleanliness standards are met.
• Enforce safety regulations and promote safe working practices among the team.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and consumables.
• Respond to public inquiries or complaints regarding cleanliness and maintenance of public spaces.
• Coordinate with other municipal departments on relevant projects.
• Ensure the aesthetic appeal and sanitary condition of all assigned public areas.
