Job summary

New Zealand Police is transforming its Corporate Finance function and seeking a Financial Accountant to lead financial reporting, forecasting, and statutory obligations for a $3B+ organisation. You’ll work with Treasury, Inland Revenue, auditors and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate information and insightful analysis.

Qualifications

• Strong financial accounting and external reporting experience.
• Understanding of accounting standards and public sector reporting requirements.
• Experience with GST, FBT and statutory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting to Treasury and support annual financial statements.
• Deliver accurate financial forecasts, cashflow reporting, and budget insights.
• Manage GST, FBT, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations.
• Partner with stakeholders across Police and external agencies to provide trusted financial advice.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes, and enhance reporting outcomes.
