Job summary

New Zealand Police is seeking a Senior Advisor - Financial Analysis and Reporting to lead complex financial analysis, modelling and reporting. Based at Police National Headquarters, Wellington, you will provide strategic finance advice to executives and senior teams and ensure timely, fit-for-purpose outputs.

You will translate financial performance into clear recommendations, identify risks and opportunities, and drive improvements in reporting tools and processes.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of public sector reporting cycles and appropriations.
• Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into meaningful insights for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial and performance analysis to enhance understanding of financial performance, resource utilisation, cost drivers and delivery outcomes.
• Ensure financial information and reporting is timely and accurately reflects organisational performance.
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends, risks and opportunities, and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Translate complex financial information into clear and actionable advice for diverse audiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting tools, processes and organisational capability.
