Job summary

New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) in Wellington Central, North Island seeks a dedicated security professional to protect staff and visitors. You will maintain security, assist with emergencies, and rotate through reception, patrols and control room duties on a 4-on/4-off roster, with day and night shifts.

Experience in operational security and shift work is preferred. You will need excellent customer service, strong communication, and fitness to stand for long periods, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Confident with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to de-escalate situations and deal with a variety of people.
• Good fitness level to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain physical security and safety and assist with emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Rotate through reception, patrols, control room duties and other duties on shift.
• Recognise, report on incidents, risks, breaches and suspicious behaviour.
• De-escalate situations and use relationship management with staff and visitors.
