Job summary

Health New Zealand Waitematā is seeking a permanent, full-time Security Officer for a 12-hour rotating roster across North Shore and Waitākere campuses. The role emphasizes calm, professional conduct in high-pressure situations with strong communication skills and report writing.

The ideal candidate will be physically fit, able to recall details for incident reports, and able to pass police vetting. NZ driver's license is required; prior security experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Police vetting is required and a clean criminal record is necessary.
• Current NZ driver’s licence is required.
• Good physical fitness and ability to recall information for report writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular patrols through Emergency Department, Triage, Wards and Departments.
• Monitor CCTV systems to ensure safety of staff, patients and visitors.
• Respond to calls for assistance or Code Grey incidents.
• Handle emergencies such as fire alarms and document incidents.
• Handover at shift start and finish to ensure continuity of safety.
