Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

As a proud Kiwi born and bred insurer, we pride ourselves in challenging status quo - and move fast to make things happen. We're here to create beautifully simple, rewarding experiences for our customers and communities, and we're working hard to protect the future of Aotearoa.

At its heart, insurance is about helping people through the unexpected. Doing what's right for our customers - especially in tough times - gives real purpose to our work.

Your day-to-day would look like:
  • Drive projects and change initiatives by turning business priorities into clear plans, coordinating stakeholders, and keeping delivery on track.
  • Partner across the business with Product, Pricing, Technology, Claims, Risk, Compliance, and Change teams to solve problems and deliver practical outcomes.
  • Provide visibility and governance by managing risks, dependencies, reporting, and portfolio insights to support informed decision-making and sustainable improvements.
In your first 6-12 months, success will look like:
  • Successfully delivering key PPUW projects and improvement initiatives, ensuring milestones are achieved, risks are managed, and benefits are realised.
  • Establishing strong stakeholder relationships across Product, Pricing, Underwriting, Technology, Claims, Risk, Compliance, and Change, becoming a trusted delivery partner.
  • Introducing clear portfolio visibility and reporting, providing leaders with confidence in priorities, progress, capacity, dependencies, and delivery risks.
  • Embedding effective governance and delivery practices, ensuring decisions, actions, risks, and project outcomes are well managed and documented.
  • Driving sustainable operational improvements, helping implement changes that enhance underwriting quality, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
  • At least five years’ experience in project management, project delivery, business improvement, change delivery or a related role.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver multiple initiatives from scope through to implementation and closure.
  • Proven ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships, influence outcomes, and coordinate delivery across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing governance, risks, issues, dependencies, reporting, and decision-making in a structured and practical way.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to solve operational challenges and translate business needs into actionable plans.
  • Knowledge of insurance, underwriting, regulatory, and change-management environments, combined with a continuous improvement and risk-aware mindset.
We invest in you.

We're serious about looking after our people. Along with a competitive salary, we offer a bunch of perks and benefits to support you and celebrate the work you do:

  • 26 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary carer and 4 weeks for partners
  • A paid day off on your birthday
  • 22 days annual leave, plus two extra annual leave days and the option to buy up to eight more
  • Wellness leave
  • Career growth and internal progression opportunities
  • Flexible working and a beautiful, modern office in Auckland
  • Discounts on Tower insurance products
  • Free life insurance
