Job summary

Ngāti Toa Rangatira seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio across Ohanga, driving projects from initiation to closure with discipline on scope, schedules, budgets, risks, suppliers and reporting.

You will steward business and digital initiatives, service improvement, property and whenua workstreams, and events for uri, whānau and partners, with emphasis on te ao Māori and te reo Māori learning.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience managing projects through their full lifecycle.
• Able to manage multiple projects, sponsors and competing priorities.
• Strong financial, risk, supplier and contract management skills.
• Clear and honest reporting, even when challenges arise.
• Builds trusted relationships and holds people accountable.
• Respect for te ao Māori and commitment to te reo Māori and tikanga Māori.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects and events across Ohanga — our economic development, investment and commercial arm.

You will manage projects from initiation through to closure, bringing discipline and momentum to scope, schedules, budgets, risks, suppliers and reporting. The portfolio spans business and digital initiatives, service improvement, property and whenua projects, investment workstreams, and events for our uri, whānau and partners.

We are looking for someone who:

Has at least three years’ experience managing projects through their full lifecycle

Can confidently manage multiple projects, sponsors and competing priorities

Brings strong financial, risk, supplier and contract management skills

Communicates clearly and reports honestly, including when challenges arise

Builds trusted relationships while holding people accountable

Demonstrates respect for te ao Māori and a genuine commitment to growing in te reo Māori and tikanga Māori

Your genuine interest and experience in early childhood or inclusive education is a given, and you will be excited to engage and learn alongside Ngāti Toa. You'll have experience or genuine interest working with tamariki and whānau Māori and Pākehā, an ability to work alongside kaiako in an ECE setting, applying agreed strategies while respecting their lead role with tamariki. Addtionally, you’ll bring excellent observation, communication and relationship-building skills, with the flexibility to adapt across different centres and routines.
