Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead electricity infrastructure projects across Auckland's Vector network. Based in Wiri, you will manage projects from planning to completion, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence while coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.

You will drive commercial performance, manage forecasting and invoicing, and build strong relationships with Vector, delivery partners and authorities.

Qualifications

  • Proven project management experience in electricity, utilities or infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, construction and network operating standards.
  • Strong commercial acumen including budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors and delivery partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and MS Project for planning and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electricity infrastructure projects from planning through to construction and completion.
  • Coordinate resources, contractors and delivery partners to meet project plans.
  • Manage project budgets, expenditure, revenue forecasting and invoicing.
  • Build strong relationships with Vector, delivery teams, consultants and authorities.
  • Monitor project performance and mitigate delivery risks with accurate reporting.
  • Champion Zero Harm and ensure compliance with contract, quality, regulatory and network standards.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Wiri-based Auckland electricity team, supporting the delivery of projects across the Vector network.

You'll manage assigned projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget. You'll coordinate resources, manage commercial performance and build trusted relationships with Vector and key delivery partners.

You'll enjoy:

  • Leading electricity projects from planning and design through to construction and completion
  • Coordinating people, contractors and resources to meet project plans and customer commitments
  • Managing project budgets, expenditure, revenue, forecasting and timely invoicing
  • Building strong relationships with Vector, delivery teams, consultants and local authorities
  • Monitoring project performance, resolving delivery risks and providing accurate reporting
  • Championing Zero Harm and ensuring work meets contract, quality, regulatory and network standards.
