Job summary

New Zealand Police is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of small to medium projects within the Delivery Capability team at Police National Headquarters, Wellington. You will apply established project management frameworks, collaborate with stakeholders and ensure outcomes meet scope, time and budget.

• Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery.
• Lead and support project teams to achieve agreed outcomes, providing guidance and fostering high performance.
• Support programme and portfolio planning activities, aligning projects with strategic priorities and best practice principles.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment by integrating health, safety and wellbeing practices into all project activities.

We're looking for a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of small to medium-sized projects that contribute to our organisational goals. You'll manage projects, using best-practice project management approaches to deliver high-quality outcomes and enable business success.

Key Accountabilities:

• Plan, manage and deliver small to medium-sized projects , ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed scope, budget, timeframe, quality standards, risk tolerances and benefits realisation requirements.
• Apply New Zealand Police project management frameworks and governance processes , maintain accurate project information within Sentient PPM, and provide timely reporting to sponsors, governance groups and stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, manage and monitor project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests , ensuring appropriate escalation and effective management of impacts to scope, budget, quality, timelines or benefits.
• Manage project resources, budgets and procurement activities , including contractor and supplier engagement, statement of work development, tender processes, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders , fostering effective communication, collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution to support project delivery.
• Lead and support project teams to achieve agreed outcomes , provide project management expertise and guidance, encourage high performance, and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
• Support programme and portfolio planning activities , identify and manage change impacts, and ensure projects align with New Zealand Police strategic priorities, organisational objectives and best practice principles.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment , by integrating health, safety and wellbeing practices into all project activities, proactively managing workplace risks, supporting wellness initiatives, and meeting all health and safety responsibilities.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $103,836 and $136,612 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
