Job summary

DIALOG Fitzroy in New Plymouth seeks an experienced Project Manager to own engineering, fabrication and construction projects from award to delivery. You’ll ensure safety, on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes while building strong client relationships and leading project teams.

Travel to project sites is required and you will mentor engineers and staff while promoting health, safety, and excellence across all activities.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering engineering, construction, fabrication, or industrial projects.
• Minimum 5 years' project management experience in related industry.
• Strong commercial acumen and contract management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering, fabrication, and construction projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Monitor cost, forecast, risk, and reporting performance.
• Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Manage contractual obligations and variations.
• Ensure safe, efficient delivery meeting quality expectations.
• Provide regular updates and performance reports to leadership.
• Mentor engineers and project team members.

In over sixty-five years, DIALOG Fitzroy has established a reputation as a leading provider of professional construction-led engineering, mechanical trade and fabrication, as well as industrial coatings and scaffolding to a diverse range of customers.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially savvy Project Manager to join our team in New Plymouth. In this role, you will take ownership of engineering, fabrication, and construction projects from contract award through to successful delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead challenging, high-value projects while building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued success of a respected industry leader. Travel to project sites will be required.

About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading multidisciplinary engineering, fabrication, and construction projects from initiation through to completion


• Developing and managing project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements


• Monitoring project performance, including cost control, forecasting, risk management, and reporting


• Coordinating project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to achieve successful project outcomes


• Managing contractual obligations, variations, and commercial performance


• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality expectations


• Providing regular project updates and performance reports to senior leadership


• Mentoring and supporting engineers and project team members


• Building and maintaining strong client relationships while identifying future business opportunities


• Promoting excellence in health, safety, environmental, and quality outcomes across all project activities

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A proven track record of delivering engineering, construction, fabrication, or industrial projects


• At least 5 years' project management experience in a relevant industry


• A strong track record of delivering profitable projects safely and successfully


• Sound commercial acumen and contract management experience


• Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills


• The ability to lead, coach, and motivate project teams


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


• A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
