Job summary

TOA Civil in Napier seeks a Project Engineer (Civil) to join a growing team. You will support engineering and project management across roading, drainage, earthworks, and subdivision developments, delivering quality solutions for clients.

The role requires a civil engineering degree or equivalent, 2+ years of experience, and strong communication, organisation and MS Office skills. Procore is preferred. NZ work eligibility is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in civil engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; MS Project preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with management and construction teams to deliver a wide range of projects.
  • Manage delivery of projects and develop delivery plans to meet timelines and budget.
  • Develop project timelines, track progress, and report updates.
  • Record progress, prepare claim schedules, and run project meetings.
  • Coordinate materials, subcontractors, and site safety requirements.

Join a growing Civil Construction company based in Napier and become an integral part of our dynamic team. We are seeking a project engineer (civil) who wants the combination of engineering and project management work to support the companies’ additional projects.

Key Requirements
  • Degree / diploma qualified civil engineer (may consider experience project engineer without formal qualifications with the right experience).
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
  • A positive can-do attitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication & organisational skills.
  • Excellent use of MS Suite products including Project.
  • Experience with construction software such as Procore (preferred, but not essential).
  • Legal eligibility to work and live in New Zealand.
Responsibilities
  • In this role you will work closely with the company management and construction teams to deliver a wide range of projects.
  • Manage the delivery of a wide range of projects.
  • Analysing designs and developing delivery plans to execute projects to meet timeline and budget constraints.
  • Developing project timelines and tracking and reporting progress.
  • Documenting and recording project progress and developing claim schedules.Supporting and running project meetings.
  • Working with the construction team to solve site construction challenges and optimise project delivery.
  • Developing and fostering strong relationships with clients’ subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Support quality management and documentation works to ensure the correct requirements are achieved.
  • Organising materials and subcontractors to suit project schedule.
  • Supporting site and project Health and Safety processes.
  • Supporting project pricing and tender submission development.
