Job summary

ABB söker en Projektingenjör som kan driva och leverera elektro-/automationsprojekt i en hybridmiljö baserad i Auckland-regionen. Du arbetar över hela livscykeln för mjukvarufokuserade industriella projekt, från systemdesign till installation och uppgraderingar.

Inom rollen kommer du att utveckla och underhålla styrprogramvara, konfigurera nätverk, samt verka i tätt samarbete med kunder och projektteam enligt kontraktskrav, kvalitetsstandarder och cybersäkerhetspolicies.

Qualifications

• Elektrisk- eller elektroteknisk examen krävs.
• Goda kunskaper om industriella styrsystem.
• Erfarenhet av industriell IT-nätverk och Windowsbaserade system.
• Kännedom om Virtualiseringsmiljöer (VMware/ESXi) är fördel.
• Erfarenhet av fältbussprotokoll som ProfiBus/Modbus är en fördel.
• Avancerade datorfärdigheter inkl. MS Office/MS Project/Outlook/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Designa och implementera DCS/PLC-styrsystem enligt ABB:s standarder.
• Utveckla IEC 61131-baserad styrprogramvara och säkerställ integration med systemarkitektur.
• Konfigurera och verifiera industriella kommunikationsnätverk och domain-arkitektur.
• Felsökning och optimering av styrsystemets applikationer samt underhåll av ICT-verktyg.
• Skapa och underhålla lokala tillämpningsriktlinjer och demonstrationssystem.
• Stötta projektleverans genom kundkontakt, säkra arbetsrutiner och teknisk dokumentation.

Project Management Office Manager

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. Join us as a Project Engineer and take a role as the design authority for engineering deliverables. In this position, you will work across the full lifecycle of software‑focused industrial engineering projects, including system design, development, validation, installation, diagnostics, remote support, migrations, and upgrades. You will contribute to both small projects and defined work packages within larger programs, ensuring all work is delivered efficiently and in line with contract requirements, quality standards, safety practices, and cybersecurity policies.

Work model: hybrid #LI hybrid based in Grafton, Auckland or Taupo, New Zealand

• Designing and implementing DCS/PLC control systems, including concept development, configuration, validation, installation, and commissioning in line with ABB’s engineering execution and quality standards.
• Developing and modifying IEC 61131-based control software, ensuring seamless integration with system architecture and alignment with functional design specifications.
• Configuring and verifying industrial communication networks (including domain architecture), applying engineering guidelines and performing rigorous verification and validation activities.
• Troubleshooting and optimizing control system applications, maintaining up‑to‑date technical knowledge of ICT solutions, development tools, and control system technologies.
• Creating and maintaining local application guidelines, libraries, and inhouse/demo systems to support development, training, testing, and diagnostics.
• Supporting project delivery through strong customer engagement, safe work practices, and contribution to proposals and technical documentation.

Qualifications for the Role

• Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification
• Sound knowledge of industrial control systems
• Generation (hydro, thermal, geothermal), oil & gas downstream processing, pulp & paper industries are an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of Industrial IT Networks, Domains, Windows OS.
• Sound implementation and maintenance knowledge of Virtual Server environment; including VMWare and ESXi are an advantage.
• Experience with fieldbus communication protocols, such as: ProfiBus, ModBusTCP/IP, and ModbusRTU.
• Experience with OPC SMNP
• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering; within an interest in instrumentation, control engineering, or software programming.
• Advanced computer skills including MS Office & MS Project, Outlook, AutoCAD.
