Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Specialist / Project Scheduler in New Zealand to support complex infrastructure programmes with planning, scheduling, reporting and controls.

You'll work closely with project managers, technical teams and clients to develop and maintain programmes, monitor progress, assess risks and provide schedule insights to keep projects on track and deliver value across multiple assignments.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing and managing project schedules.
  • Experience across multiple projects or complex programmes.
  • Understanding of project controls, cost tracking, forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different projects and client environments.
  • Formal project controls or scheduling qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • You don't need to tick every box.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and update project schedules and programme plans.
  • Monitor progress and identify schedule risks, impacts and dependencies.
  • Manage baselines and support programme change management.
  • Provide schedule analysis and advice to project managers and delivery teams.
  • Support monthly project reporting and performance reviews.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
  • Undertake variance analysis and performance reporting.
  • Support risk, change and Earned Value Management activities where required.
  • Communicate project information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Present schedule updates and performance information confidently.
