Job summary

WorkSafe New Zealand is seeking a Programme Coordinator to organize and connect strategic intervention programmes. You will provide coordination, reporting and administrative support to keep leaders informed about progress, risks and priorities.

The role suits a person who brings structure to complex, cross-functional work. You will work within Regulatory Effectiveness and the Strategic Interventions team to ensure coordinated delivery and visible outcomes.

Programme Coordinator - Strategic Interventions

Regulatory Effectiveness is a new group established at WorkSafe to strengthen regulatory focus and improve how WorkSafe understands risk, designs interventions, and evaluates impact.

The Strategic Interventions team leads and coordinates priority programmes that address some of New Zealand's most significant workplace health and safety risks. Working closely with policy, implementation and operational teams, the group connects planning and delivery to ensure WorkSafe's interventions are aligned, effective and focused on achieving meaningful regulatory outcomes.

About the role / Ō te tūranga

As Programme Coordinator, you'll play a key role in keeping strategic intervention programmes organised, connected and on track. You'll provide the coordination, reporting and administrative support that enables teams to work effectively together, while ensuring leaders have clear visibility of progress, risks and priorities. What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi

  • Coordinate programme activity across multiple teams and functions
  • Connect people, information, and activities across teams to drive joined-up delivery
  • Keep programme plans, timelines, and milestones on track and aligned to priorities
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting that gives visibility of programme progress and outcomes
  • Facilitate communication and information sharing across stakeholders
  • Track and elevate programme risks, issues and actions
  • Coordinate meetings, documentation and programme administration
  • Support collaboration across policy, implementation, operational, and strategic teams
  • Experience coordinating programmes, projects or complex initiatives
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with confidence
  • Strong reporting, administration and organisational skills
  • A talent for building relationships and coordinating work across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, accurate reporting
  • Confidence using programme management tools and systems to maintain visibility of work
  • Experience monitoring progress, managing risks, and keeping key activities on track
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in programme coordination, administration or business support

Salary range / Awhe utu

As part of our remuneration framework, the full salary range is $74,174 - $96,491 and the expected appointment base salary is $74,174-$81,612 (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our KiwiSaver employer contribution increased to 3.5%.
