Job summary

WorkSafe New Zealand is seeking a Manager, Stakeholder Management to lead the coordination of stakeholder engagement across the organisation. You will translate priorities into structured engagement plans and provide the systems and processes to deliver coordinated activity.

You will lead a four-person team, working to ensure consistent engagement across New Zealand and across partner networks, events, and channels. This is a permanent role with Wellington preferred.

Enterprise Planning and Implementation is a new group established at WorkSafe to strengthen planning, coordination, and implementation across the organisation, particularly to improve how work is prioritised, sequenced, and supported through to delivery.

The Stakeholder Management team sits within the Enterprise Planning and Implementation group and plays a critical role in helping WorkSafe engage consistently and effectively with stakeholders across New Zealand.

This team enables effective stakeholder engagement at scale by providing the systems, processes, planning and support that help relationship leads and operational teams deliver coordinated engagement aligned to organisational priorities. You will lead a team of four and have the opportunity to shape a developing function that sits at the heart of how WorkSafe connects with its stakeholders.

About the role / Ō te tūranga

As Manager, Stakeholder Management, you will lead the coordination of stakeholder engagement activity across WorkSafe, ensuring engagement is aligned, prioritised and delivered in a consistent and purposeful way.

This role bridges strategy and delivery. Working closely with the Head of Stakeholder Partnering and Management, you will translate organisational priorities into structured engagement plans, practical processes and coordinated activity across the organisation. You will provide the systems, frameworks and support that help teams plan, coordinate and deliver effective engagement activity, whether through partnering arrangements, stakeholder networks, events or other engagement channels.

This is not a traditional relationship management role focused on owning stakeholder relationships. It is an opportunity to build and mature the operational capability that enables high quality stakeholder engagement across WorkSafe. You will create visibility, reduce duplication, improve coordination and help establish consistent ways of working that support meaningful engagement outcomes.

Salary range / Awhe utu

The expected appointment base salary for this role is $168,932. KiwiSaver or SSRSS employer contributions are additional.

From 1 April 2026, our KiwiSaver employer contribution increased to 3.5%.

Wellington is preferredgiven the role's close connection with the central stakeholder partnering function and key organisational stakeholders. Other locations may be considered for an exceptional candidate who is willing to travel regularly and invest time in building strong internal relationships.
