Selwyn District Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Professional Partnership Programme Lead & Auditor with technical experience to take ownership of our highly regarded Professional Partnership Programme (PPP) and help position Selwyn as the building consent authority of choice.
About the role
As a key member of our Building Quality Team, you will lead the ongoing management and growth, of the PPP, fostering trusted partnerships with industry professionals while ensuring programme compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
This is a unique opportunity to combine stakeholder engagement, programme leadership, technical experience, and auditing in a role that directly contributes to delivering exceptional building consent services across the district.
You will act as the primary contact for our PPP partners, champion programme growth, undertake audits, and drive continual improvement initiatives that support both regulatory requirements and industry needs.
Responsible for:
Partner relationship management and communications
Programme growth, promotion and oversight
Technical and annual partner reviews
Quality system auditing
Continuous improvement of the programme
This role is a full time permanent role based in Rolleston.
About you
We're looking for someone who can build strong relationships and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, from tradespeople to company directors, and our team members to executive.
You’ll bring strong auditing skills, high levels of honesty and integrity, and the confidence to work independently and objectively. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and other digital systems are essential.
You will ideally have:
10 years' + relevant experience in the building industry, preferably in a wide variety of New Zealand building projects.
Sound technical understanding of the New Zealand Building Act 2004, building consent processes, and BCA accreditation requirements.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with industry and internal stakeholders.
Experience in a customer-facing role within the construction or building sector.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple workstreams.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills suitable for a range of audiences.
A proactive, self-directed approach with the initiative to identify and act on opportunities for improvement.
Commitment to quality outcomes and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated time management and planning skills.
A full Driver's licence
