Job summary

Silver Fern Farms is seeking an energetic Trainer to join our Finegand Operations team in New Zealand. You will provide practical, safety‑driven training to ensure staff perform to the highest standard.

Working with the training team, supervisors, and recruitment, you will align training with industry requirements, support new employees, and drive continuous improvement across the site. This role offers the chance to influence people development, promote wellbeing, and uphold our core purpose:

Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in training within a production environment.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a positive training culture
• Coach and mentor employees to support skill development and performance
• Coordinate and deliver training aligned with business needs and industry unit standards
• Train and assess employee competencies including Induction, Meat Processing and site-specific procedures
• Maintain accurate training records and ensure refresher training is completed on time
• Support new employees, monitor progress, identify training gaps and provide follow-up support
• Partner and mentor buddy trainers to ensure quality, consistent learner development
• Identify poor technique and coach improvements, supporting both employees and supervisors
