Hynds Pipe Systems Limited in Christchurch is seeking a Production Technician to join our hands-on team assembling precast concrete products. You will move between mould setup, reinforcement, casting, finishing and QC, following drawings and standards to deliver high-quality results.
You'll work with a safety-first mindset, contribute to continuous improvement, and grow with on-the-job training, health benefits, and employee support programs across our Canterbury sites.
Most of what leaves our site will never be seen again — and that's the point. Our pipes go into the ground right across New Zealand and quietly do their job for the next hundred years. Getting it right the first time takes skill, focus, and a crew that cares about the standard of what they make.
We're after a Production Technician to join the crew in Christchurch at our Canada Crescent & Waterloo Sites. It's honest, hands‑on work for someone who likes seeing a finished product at the end of the day, backs the people around them, and wants to build a real trade while they're at it.
We're a family‑owned New Zealand company that's been going since 1973, and today we're the country's biggest maker of reinforced concrete pipe and precast products. Seven plants, branches nationwide, 500-plus people — and still run on a pretty simple idea: look after your people, do the right thing, and back each other.
You'll report to the Production Supervisor and work as part of the team that turns steel and concrete into finished precast product. Mould set‑up, reinforcement, casting, finishing, stripping and QC — you'll move across all of it, and no two days will look quite the same.
Most of all, you're someone people can rely on — you turn up, pull your weight, take pride in the job, and look out for the crew around you.
At Hynds, we believe diverse teams make better decisions and stronger businesses. We're committed to an inclusive workplace where everyone is welcomed, supported and encouraged to thrive.
