Job summary

Rolleston Sam Singh Farming Ltd is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Christchurch restaurant. You will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, ensure high service levels, and handle customer inquiries in a fast‑paced environment.

Role requires a calm, reliable communicator with staff leadership skills. Training will be provided, and the position is full‑time with a Monday–Sunday roster and minimum 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience or level 4 or higher qualification in Business/commerce/management/sales/Arts or relevant field
• Reliable and punctual
• A clear and confident communicator
• Calm and efficient under pressure
• Ministry of Justice check and pre-employed drug test required

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality goods and services
• Responding to customers’ inquiries and complaints about goods and services
• Planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties
• Interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and
• Resolving staff grievances
• Instructing staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales procedures
• Examining returned goods and deciding on appropriate action
• Taking inventory of goods for sale and ordering new stock
• Ensuring that goods and services are correctly priced and displayed
• Ensuring safety and security procedures are enforced

We are a restaurant here in Christchurch, New Zealand, and we are looking for Assistant Manager to join our team! You must be skilled, hardworking, and have the ability to work in high pressure environments.

We offer competitve pay, between $25 to $28.00 (depending on experience) and a minimum of 30 hours per week. This is a fulltime role; work is as per the roster, Mondayto Sunday.
