Job summary

Ag Assist Limited in Northern Southland is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to join our family-run 1200 cow dairy platform. Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will help day-to-day operations and step up to lead the team when required.

The role includes an 8-2 / 8-3 roster and accommodation: a 3-bedroom brick house with heat pump and a fireplace, in a rural setting. Experience in dairy farming and leadership is essential to thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in dairy or livestock farming with practical animal care skills.
• Ability to operate farm machinery and maintain equipment.
• Knowledge of feeding regimes, calving, and pasture management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork.
• Experience with Protrack/Minda, Allflex collars, and milk meters is preferred.
• Willingness to lead and oversee farm operations.
