Job summary

The a2 Milk Company – Pokeno, North Island is seeking Production Operators for our blending and canning plant. We have multiple positions, seeking mechanically minded, detail-oriented team players with a great attitude and strong work ethic.

This full-time role requires a minimum of 42 hours per week and prior manufacturing experience is preferred. Ideal candidates are physically capable of lifting up to 25kg, comfortable with 12-hour shifts, and able to pass a pre-employment medical and

Responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery efficiently and safely.
• Follow SOPs without deviation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Perform cleaning procedures and prepare formulations as required.
• Assist with routine and shutdown maintenance.
• Comply with health and safety responsibilities.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities related to H&S and SOPs.

About the role

We’re looking for Production Operators to join our blending and canning plant in Pokeno. We have multiple positions available and are seeking individuals who are mechanically minded, detail-oriented, quick learners, and above all, team players with a great attitude and strong work ethic. The role is a full-time position working a minimum of 42 hours per week. Manufacturing or processing environment experience is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery efficiently and safely
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) without deviation
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
• Complete documentation accurately and on time
• Perform cleaning procedures and prepare formulations as required
• Assist with routine and shutdown maintenance
• Comply with all health and safety responsibilities outlined in company procedures
• Participate in continuous improvement activities related to H&S and SOPs

About you

• Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg.
• Comfortable standing for long periods and working 12-hour shifts.
• NCEA Level 3 or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to travel to our Pokeno site.
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Capable of reading, writing, and performing basic maths accurately. Able to read and write clearly and perform basic mathematics. Accurate documentation is very important in our environment.
