Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking a Production Operator in Dunedin. This hands-on role focuses on accurate manufacturing, filling, packaging and documentation to meet quality standards. Location is Central Dunedin with an anticipated late October start and a pay rate between $26–$29 per hour.

You will work across the production process, follow procedures, and contribute to a safe, GMP-compliant manufacturing environment. Full training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong reading, comprehension and basic numeracy skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow written formulations precisely.
• Reliable, punctual with good time management and accountability.
• Able to work independently and know when to ask for help.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture products according to formulations, specifications, SOPs and production records.
• Accurately weighing, measuring, dispensing, blending and mixing raw materials.
• Operate production equipment including mixers, pumps, filling and bottling machinery.
• Complete filling, capping, labelling and palletising tasks.
• Carry out production checks and complete required documentation accurately.
• Clean and prepare equipment and production areas between batches.
• Follow GMP, quality and safety procedures to prevent contamination.

Production Operator

Are you reliable, detail-focused and keen to build your skills in manufacturing? Tradestaff is looking for a Production Operator to join an established Dunedin manufacturing company producing a diverse range of agricultural, animal health and specialty products. This is a hands‑on role where accuracy matters. You’ll be involved across the manufacturing process, working to clear procedures and quality standards while ensuring products are manufactured, filled, packaged and documented correctly.

Location: Central Dunedin, Dunedin

Start date: Anticipated late October – we’re sourcing talent now

Pay rate: $26–$29 per hour

What you’ll be doing

• Manufacturing products according to approved formulations, specifications, SOPs and production records
• Accurately weighing, measuring, dispensing, blending and mixing raw materials
• Operating production equipment including mixers, pumps, filling and bottling machinery
• Completing filling, capping, labelling, packing and palletising tasks
• Carrying out production checks and completing required documentation accurately
• Thoroughly cleaning and preparing equipment and production areas between batches
• Following GMP, quality and safety procedures to prevent contamination, errors and product mix‑ups

What we’re looking for

• Strong reading, comprehension, communication and basic numeracy skills
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow written formulations and instructions accurately
• A reliable, punctual approach with good time management and personal accountability
• Confidence working independently while knowing when to stop and ask for assistance
• A strong commitment to safe working practices, GMP, product quality and cleaning standards
• Previous manufacturing experience is advantageous, particularly in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, agricultural, paint or similar environments
• Forklift F endorsement and OSH certificate would be advantageous but are not essential
