Job summary

Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities is seeking an organized, proactive Product Manager to join our Digital IT team on an 18-month fixed-term basis in Auckland. You will support a portfolio of technology products and platforms, maintaining service continuity during a transition to a new integrated solution.

This hands-on role requires autonomy, prioritisation, and strong stakeholder relationships across the business and Digital IT.

Qualifications

• Sound experience in product management, application management, business analysis, service delivery, technology delivery or a related discipline
• Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, ability to translate complex business needs into clear requirements
• An aptitude to quickly learn technology products, business processes and operational environments
• Comfort in managing multiple products, stakeholders and competing priorities
• A strong customer and stakeholder focus and mindset — building trusted relationships and understanding needs
• Strong skills and experience working collaboratively across Digital IT, business teams and external providers
• A drive for delivering measurable outcomes
• Experience or knowledge of building and construction industry knowledge would be advantageous

• Supporting the day-to-day management of multiple technology products and platforms
• Working with stakeholders to understand operational needs, priorities, issues and risks
• Coordinating essential maintenance, support and fit-for-purpose improvements for established products
• Helping maintain service continuity while products transition towards retirement or replacement
• Supporting product planning and roadmap management for a new product
• Working closely with Digital IT teams, peers, vendors and business stakeholders to coordinate activity and resolve issues
• Building knowledge of the technology products, their users and the business processes they support
• Maintaining clear product information, priorities, decisions, risks and actions
• Providing practical customer-focused advice and support throughout the transition
• Driving transparency around platform risks, dependencies, priorities, and outcomes

We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Product Manager to join our Digital IT team for an 18-month fixed term. Reporting to the Business Technology Solutions Manager - Asset and Infrastructure Planning and Delivery; this role will provide additional product management capacity during an important technology transition. You will support a portfolio of technology products and platforms, helping ensure they remain stable, supported and fit for purpose while the organisation transitions towards a new integrated solution. You will work across a mix of established products and a new product being introduced. For existing products, the focus will be on maintaining service continuity, coordinating essential support and improvements, managing risks and dependencies, and helping stakeholders navigate the transition. For the new product, you will contribute to product planning and roadmap management as it is implemented and established. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work with a good level of autonomy, manage competing priorities and build strong relationships across the business and Digital IT.

We're seeking an experienced product professional who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery focus. If you are highly organised, able to plan, prioritise and follow through on actions and have a proactive approach we'd love to hear from you.
