Fisher & Paykel Healthcare seeks an experienced engineer to drive the Airvo platform evolution from concept to market release, while exploring future opportunities to expand our therapies. You will mentor engineers, lead technical direction, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality medical devices.

The role emphasizes ownership, initiative, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a dynamic healthcare environment, contributing to outcomes that improve patient care.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development or Industrial Design.
Experience in medical product development is preferred.
Ability to deliver projects from concept to implementation.
Strong communication and collaboration across stakeholders.

About The Opportunity

The Airvo New Platforms team is seeking an experienced and motivated engineer to join us in driving the continued evolution of our respiratory care therapies and technologies.

This role is ideal for a person who enjoys taking ownership and being involved in projects from concept through to market release.

You will play a key role in the continued evolution of the Airvo 3 platform while helping to explore and develop future platform opportunities that expand the reach and impact of our therapies.

Key responsibilities include:

Driving the enhancement of the Airvo platform, while exploring future opportunities to grow our product range in the future
Excellent communicator and collaborator
Mentoring and supporting other engineers, helping to grow capability and foster a collaborative team culture
Navigating and generating medical design-controls documentation
Technical Leadership by creating clarity and direction in areas of ambiguity and complexity.

About You

You are a self-driven person with a proven track record of delivering projects from concept to implementation.
You have a very high level of initiative
You are comfortable working through ambiguity, creating direction where needed, and mentoring others to achieve project objectives.
You build effective relationships across a range of stakeholders and enjoy working collaboratively within cross-functional teams to drive product development activities.
You hold a degree (or equivalent tertiary qualification) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, and Industrial Design
You ideally have medical product development experience or other similar experience working on high-quality products
