Job summary

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is seeking a Product Designer focused on Design Systems to shape scalable design foundations for our digital products. You’ll own NZTE's design system, create reusable components, and drive consistency across customer-facing experiences.

You’ll collaborate with designers, developers and product teams to ensure accessible, intuitive interfaces and thoughtful AI integrations that empower New Zealand exporters to thrive globally.

Qualifications

• Experience designing within or contributing to design systems.
• Proficient in Figma and able to create scalable component libraries and patterns.
• Demonstrate systems thinking and ability to balance customer needs, business goals and platform consistency.
• Curious about AI and its role in design practice.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve NZTE's design system, including reusable components, patterns and documentation.
• Improve consistency, accessibility and quality across NZTE's digital products.
• Partner with product and technology teams to deliver high-quality design solutions.
• Explore emerging technologies and thoughtfully incorporate AI into design practice.
