Job summary

NZ Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is hiring a Product Designer, Design Systems based in New Zealand within commuting range of its Wellington offices (preferred). You will own and evolve NZTE's design system, creating reusable components and patterns across customer-facing products, including myNZTE.

Collaborating with designers, developers and product teams, you will ensure accessibility, consistency and quality while exploring how AI can enhance design practice and delivery.

Qualifications

• Design systems experience or related product design background.
• Ability to design for accessibility and consistency.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve NZTE's design system, including reusable components, patterns and documentation
• Improve consistency, accessibility and quality across NZTE's digital products
• Work closely with designers, developers and product teams to ensure products feel connected, intuitive and accessible
• Partner with product and technology teams to ensure design solutions are delivered to a high standard
• Explore emerging technologies and help shape how AI can be incorporated into design practice
