Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a commercially driven Procurement Manager with deep property procurement experience spanning retail branches, head office portfolios, and facilities management. The role covers strategy, sourcing, and contract life cycle in a hybrid Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch setting.

You will build supplier partnerships, deliver value, and collaborate with internal partners to optimise costs while supporting customer outcomes.

We are looking to secure a strong, commercially driven procurement professional with deep expertise across Property procurement categories. This includes hands‑on experience leading sourcing and commercial outcomes across retail branch environments, corporate/head office property portfolios, capital works/construction projects (including NZ3910‑based contracts), and facilities management.

The team focus is on our customers, data, delivery, integrity and continuing to build strong and solid relationships with our suppliers. As a best‑in‑class end‑to‑end procurement services function, we aim to foster an engaging environment for our people and deliver efficient, effective, and good commercial outcomes to our customers.

This role can be based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, with centrally located offices and a hybrid working model that supports balance and flexibility.

Reporting directly to the Senior Procurement Lead Customer and Corporate Services, as Procurement Manager, your primary purpose is to lead medium as well as potentially major complexity deals within the Customer and Corporate Services Procurement Portfolio, overseeing the end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle from strategy, sourcing and contract life management by:

  • Developing and executing strategic and innovative category solutions
  • Building on external partnerships to deliver sustainable value
  • Collaborating with internal business partners to deliver on customer outcomes

Proven Procurement subject matter expertise and strong depth in Property related categories including:

  • Retail branch property (fit outs, refurbishments, rollout programmes etc);
  • Corporate / Head Office property environments;
  • Facilities Management services and outsourcing models.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and market trends
  • Effective communication skills to engage with internal teams and vendors
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and manage supplier relationships
  • A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrable experience in improving cost efficiency/effectiveness of organisations through procurement
