Family Doctors in Tauranga is seeking an experienced Primary Care Assistant to join our clinical team. You will support nurses, GPs, reception and administration staff with clinical administration and day-to-day operations across our three locations.
The role is full-time, four days per week, with flexibility to cover school holidays and between Pyes Pa, The Lakes, Brookfield locations. Training provided for ECGs, immunisations, and minor procedures.
Family Doctors is currently recruiting an experienced Primary Care Assistant to join our clinical team. You will be working with our team of nurses, general practitioners, reception and administration staff providing clinical administration support and contributing to the smooth daily operation of the practice. We are a growing, family-centred practice with 3 locations in Pyes Pa, The Lakes and Brookfield and we seek to serve with excellence, and 'go that extra mile'. This position is full-time - 4 days per week. Must be able to work school holidays.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Ensure all healthcare areas are tidy, clean and have adequate supplies of linen; management and ordering of consumable stock levels, in co-ordination with the Lead Nurse.
Provide clinical administrative support.
Assisting with patient assessments and care, acting as a chaperone during GP appointments, completing ECG's, blood pressure, and immunisations (training provided).
Assisting with minor surgery.
Maintenance of surgical equipment including cleaning, autoclaving and storage, to comply with the appropriate standards.
Demonstrate professional accountability by maintaining clear, concise, accurate and timely documentation in the PMS.
Demonstrate an ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other health professionals assessing patients' progress towards expected outcomes to ensure continuity of patient care.
We would love to hear from you, if you have the following skills and qualities:
Health-care Assistant Level 3 qualification or NZ Certificate in Health and Well-being (Advanced Support) Level 4 with minimum of 6 months recent experience as a Primary or Health-care Assistant/Caregiver.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Experience in a health care setting.
An ability to work independently with confidence.
An ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
Experience using practice management software (Indici) an advantage.
Previous experience with sterilising and infection control procedure preferred.
Remuneration will be in line with the current PHC Meca.
Must currently reside in NZ
Must be eligible to work in NZ and hold NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
If successful- will be required to consent to police vetting under the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014
Will be able to work Monday - Friday between hours 8am-4.30pm with flexibility to work between the 3 locations and cover leave etc.
