Job summary

St Andrews Christian College in Christchurch invites applications for a Preparatory School Classroom Teacher (Years 4–8). This full-time, permanent role focuses on evidence‑informed teaching, literacy, numeracy, and collaborative professional growth within a supportive community.

You will design learning experiences for Years 4–8, using data to differentiate and raise outcomes, while contributing to a culture of instructional excellence and student wellbeing. Term 1 start in 2027.

Qualifications

• Registered NZ teacher with evidence-based teaching practice.
• Experience in a primary or intermediate setting.
• Strong literacy program delivery using Structured Literacy.

About the role

Working within Years 4-8, you will design and deliver purposeful learning experiences that are informed by evidence, responsive to learner needs, and focused on achieving strong student outcomes. Year-level placement will be based on the strengths and experience of the successful applicant.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

• A registered New Zealand teacher with experience in a primary or intermediate setting.

• Confident in teaching mathematics and developing students' mathematical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Creates engaging, inclusive learning environments characterised by high expectations, positive relationships, and learner success.




• Responds effectively to the diverse strengths, needs, and backgrounds of students.
