Job summary

Wyma in Christchurch designs and manufactures post-harvest equipment and systems. This role supports packing, loading, and shipping of capital equipment and spares, contributing to Wyma’s first impression of quality and brand.

You will assemble frames/crates, secure loads, and document shipments while following safety policies. A forklift licence and crane experience are preferred, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical assembly and basic carpentry is required or highly beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD views.
• Experience securing heavy or technical equipment for shipping and loading.
• Forklift license and gantry crane experience are preferred.
• Demonstrated team player with communication skills and ability to work under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assemble transport frames and build pellets and crates to agreed plans.
• Document all parts and assemblies shipped, via online systems.
• Read load plans and assemble loads into frames/crates and onto pallets.
• Secure products inside containers using straps, tie-downs or other methods to prevent movement.
• Operate forklifts and overhead gantry cranes to move parts and products.
• Comply with health and safety policies and procedures.
