Job summary

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required. These roles require workers to be available for work in various NZ regions, with travel and accommodation expenses covered where needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant excavation experience.
• Ability to operate excavators with precision.
• Comfortable working in a team and following project plans.

Responsibilities

• Equipment readiness: conduct pre-operation checks and position machinery.
• Attachment management: fit and remove attachments (buckets, winches, scoops, blades, hammers).
• Precision operation: control machine to excavate, move material, and spread with accuracy.
• Vigilant monitoring: adjust operation to maintain safety, pressure, and speed on site.
• Task execution: follow plans, drawings, markers and verbal instructions.
• Maintenance: perform routine servicing, lubrication, cleaning and refuelling.
• Machinery transportation: move and position heavy machines safely on site.
• Attachment assessment: determine suitable attachments for tasks.
• Manual and hydraulic mastery: operate attachments using manual and hydraulic controls.
