Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead pre-construction and design development for complex industrial, dairy, power and process projects across New Zealand. You will partner with senior leadership to shape technical solutions from enquiry to contract, working with specialists to deliver buildable designs.

You will identify risks and value engineering opportunities while communicating complex ideas to senior stakeholders, joining a collaborative pre-construction

Qualifications

• Several years as a Structural Engineer in New Zealand.
• Strong technical design experience on vertical building structures.
• Practical experience working for a main contractor preferred.
• Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering.
• Excellent problem solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of solutions from initial client enquiry through to contract.

The role

Pre-construction is where these projects get shaped and secured. Partnering with the senior leadership team you’ll lead the technical development of solutions from initial client enquiry right through to contract, working alongside specialists to turn a client’s business requirements into a buildable and effective design.

Alongside developing designs and scopes you will identify risks and value engineering opportunities, and find practical, workable paths through technical problems as they arise.

What you’ll bring

• Several years as a Structural Engineer in New Zealand
• Strong technical design experience on vertical building structures
• Practical experience working for a main contractor preferred
• Degree in Structural / Civil Engineering
• Excellent problem solving ability
