Job summary

BDO Hawke's Bay is seeking a senior Practice Manager to take a lead role in how the practice operates and performs. This pivotal position supports the partners with financial insight, reporting, governance, risk, people processes and practical improvements across the practice.

You'll work at both strategic and hands-on levels, influencing through collaboration to keep our team confident, capable and supported in delivering high-quality client service across the region.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience in a senior business or practice management role.
  • Strong commercial and financial mindset.
  • Experience with management reporting, budgeting, cashflow and performance metrics.
  • Strong judgement around governance, compliance and risk.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to bring out the best in people through support, encouragement, and accountability.
  • Ability to improve processes without overcomplicating them.
  • Pragmatic, organised, and focused on getting things done.

  • Financial management - monthly reporting, budgeting, cashflow and forecasting
  • Performance insight - providing partners with clear, practical analysis and recommendations

About the role

Due to an upcoming retirement, we're looking for a Practice Manager to take a lead role in how our practice operates and performs.

This is a senior position that supports the partners with financial insight, reporting, governance, risk, people processes and practical improvements across the practice.

You'll suit this role if you enjoy variety, can work at both a strategic and hands-on level, and can lead through influence and collaboration, helping people feel confident, capable, and supported in their roles.
