Job summary

Kia Puāwai is seeking a Practice Leader to guide the Multisystemic Therapy (MST) team in delivering trauma-informed, evidence-based care to tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau. You will supervise and mentor clinicians, coordinate with partner agencies, and oversee referrals to ensure timely, effective outcomes.

The role requires strong clinical leadership, bi-cultural practice experience, and a commitment to mātauranga Māori alongside Western approaches.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading, managing and supervising a clinical team.
• 2+ years of experience in providing effective team and individual clinical supervision.
• Registered health professional under the HPCA Act or Social Work registration.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, psychotherapy, social work, or related mental health field.

Kia Puawai is looking for an experienced and passionate person to lead ourMulti-Systemic Therapy (MST) team. If you are a registered social worker or health professional, have experience leading a clinical team and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career, we'd love to hear from you!

Core responsibilities will include providing clinical supervision to the team on a weekly basis, supporting the team in their individual clinical development, liaising with key agencies, and managing referrals. You will be provided a comprehensive orientation training, as well as regular quarterly trainings that are designed to meet the needs of your team.

• Proven experience in leading, managing and supervising a clinical team.
• 2+ years of experience in providing effective team and individual clinical supervision.
• Resilient and motivated.
• Experience working with rangatahi and their whānau, experience with behaviour modification, or cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT).
• Previous MST experience preferred, but is not essential.
• Registered health professional under the HPCA Act or Social Work registration.
• Bachelor's/master's degree in psychology, psychotherapy, social work, or other related mental health field.
• Willing to engage in our bi-cultural journey and be able to engage with our whānau bringing balance using mātauranga Māori and mātauranga tauiwi.
• Willing to undertake training.
• Availability to be on call.

We are a tangata Tiriti NGO which specialises in providing therapeutic services for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau who have complex behavioural and/or mental health needs.

Our innovative approach combines Western evidence-based models with mātauranga Māori and Pasifika knowledge. We work in a trauma informed way that acknowledges the impacts of colonisation for tangata whenua and indigenous peoples of Te Moana Nui a Kiwa, including how and why members of these communities may require our services.
