Te Taumata, Te Puna Manawa o Whakaue in Rotorua, seeks a registered Pouako to join our bilingual Puna environment where te reo Māori is the language of choice.
You'll plan age-appropriate learning following the Ngāti Whakaue curriculum alongside Te Whāriki, keep portfolios and learning stories rich with whānau voice, and ensure whānau feel informed and welcome.
You'll also help keep Puna safe, support wellbeing of tamariki, whānau and kaimahi, and meet quality early learning standards.
Picture a tamaiti confidently leading karakia, naming their maunga, or singing a waiata they learned at Puna. That's what we're here for. At Te Puna Manawa o Whakaue, ancestral culture and identity are woven through every day, so our tamariki grow up connected to te ao Māori and proud of where they come from.
Guided by a dedicated team of Poumahi, we embody and uphold the values of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, kaitiakitanga, pono me te tika, and mana motuhake in all that we do.
Te Taumata is a leadership organisation established by and for Ngāti Whakaue, working across education, te reo Māori, housing development and social wellbeing. Today, our work reaches hundreds of whānau, rangatahi, tamariki, and kōhungahunga through high-quality, whānau-centred programmes and services.
We're looking for a registered Pouako to join our Puna, a bilingual environment where te reo Māori is the language of choice.
In this role you'll bring the Ngāti Whakaue curriculum to life alongside Te Whāriki, planning age-appropriate learning that follows the interests of our tamariki, along with regular excursions linked to kaupapa. You'll keep portfolios and learning stories current and rich with whānau voice, and make sure whānau feel informed, confident and welcome.
You'll also play your part in keeping Puna safe and running well, looking after the wellbeing of tamariki, whānau and kaimahi, and making sure all the requirements that come with a quality early learning centre are met.
Hei aha au te mate noa ake, i tāku pākārito ka tipu.
If you want your teaching to be part of that legacy, we'd love to hear from you.
