Job summary

The University of Waikato’s Institute for Chronic Disease Research (ICDR) seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to advance research on chronic disease prevention, management and health outcomes in collaboration with senior researchers.

You will lead independent projects from study design through data collection and analysis, contribute to funding applications, and disseminate findings through publications and presentations while working within a multidisciplinary team at the Hilcrest Campus in Hamilton.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline such as public health, epidemiology, health sciences, medicine, biostatistics, health services research or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience conducting independent research and a track record of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Experience preparing scientific reports, publications and presentations; ability to contribute across the research process.
• Ability to manage projects and competing priorities in a multidisciplinary team; proactive and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and contribute to a range of research projects aligned with ICDR priorities.
• Involve in study design, data collection and analysis, dissemination of findings, and funding applications.
• Collaborate with senior researchers and partners to advance the Institute's research programme.
