Job summary

New Zealand Transport Agency in Auckland seeks an experienced Portfolio Controls Specialist to shape and maintain the 10-year State Highway pipeline. You will deliver cost, schedule, risk and benefits information to inform major investment decisions.

This is a permanent role based in Wellington or Auckland, offering a strong governance framework and opportunities for career growth within NZTA’s IDD portfolio.

Qualifications

• Our ideal candidate has PMO/portfolio controls experience on large-scale infrastructure programs.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with complex information.
• Experience using SAP or Planview for portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the state highway infrastructure pipeline is accurate, reliable and decision-ready.
• Manage portfolio controls information across a complex pipeline and activities within it.
• Set up programmes and projects within core financial and portfolio management systems.
• Support portfolio planning and investment decisions as part of the team.
• Provide expert advice on data quality and governance at lifecycle phase gates.
• Collaborate with controls teams to resolve complex issues and drive continuous improvement.
