Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in Porirua is seeking a dedicated Workplace Administrator to join our supportive team. You will assist with scheduling, reception duties, liaise with vendors and stakeholders, and help organise welcomes for new whānau while supporting a calm response to critical situations.

Qualifications

• Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence (required).
• Strong computer skills and IT knowledge; typing, reporting.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reception duties: answer phones, book rooms and coordinate room bookings.
• Liaise with vendors, casual staff and other stakeholders.
• Work with Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira and Hapori partners to support tamariki and whānau.
• Organise welcomes/whakatau for newcomers and whānau as needed.
• Deal with critical scenarios calmly and professionally.
