Job summary

Platypus Shoes Glenfield is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to work alongside the Store Manager, driving sales and delivering outstanding customer service in a premium retail environment.

You will lead a team, coach colleagues, manage rosters and stock, and ensure store presentation and OH&S compliance while contributing to a dynamic and inclusive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior casual, key holder, 3IC, or supervisor in a high-volume retail environment.
• Proven ability to lead a team and deliver strong results in sales and KPIs.
• Hands-on leader with a 'Make it Happen' mindset.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
• Operational know-how across stock management and visual merchandising.
• Enthusiasm for customer experience and premium products.

About the Role

As the Assistant Manager at Platypus Shoes Glenfield , you'll work side-by-side with the Store Manager to support a team of passionate casual team members. Your focus will be on driving sales and KPIs, coaching the team, and delivering next-level customer service. You'll play a key role in creating an energetic store culture, while developing your leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-impact retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in driving store performance by achieving sales targets, KPIs, and maintaining visual merchandising standards
• Motivate and inspire the team to deliver outstanding results in sales and customer experience
• Monitor and analyse store sales performance daily, weekly, and monthly – celebrate wins and identify opportunities for growth
• Manage rosters and wage spend in line with company targets and operational efficiency
• Coach and mentor team members, driving high morale, ongoing training, and succession planning
• Oversee stock levels, store presentation, shrinkage control, and operational excellence
• Ensure compliance with all OH&S policies and relevant state and national legislation

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience as a senior casual, key holder, 3IC, or supervisor in a high-volume retail environment
• Proven ability to lead a team and deliver strong results in sales and KPIs
• A proactive, hands-on leader with a 'Make it Happen' mindset
• Strong communication skills and a passion for coaching others
• Operational know-how across stock management and visual merchandising
