Here at BNZ, it’s about more than just banking. We work together in an agile, energising environment to create innovative solutions through our promise “If you can imagine a better future, let’s find a way.”

We support wellbeing, flexible working and have a generous leave offering. There is the opportunity for growth, learning and career development. No two days are the same.

We have an opportunity for a Platform Owner to join our Cards API team in Technology and be responsible for the Cards and Merchants APIs.

As part of the Cards & Merchants domain, you’ll help ensure millions of customer and merchant transactions remain fast, secure, and reliable while contributing to the modernisation of BNZ’s core payments technology. This domain spans end-to-end card and merchant capabilities, including transaction processing, card issuing, merchant services, compliance, integration and APIs, and data insights. In this role, you’ll lead the Integration & API Services capability, enabling seamless connectivity across BNZ’s card, merchant, and partner ecosystems through modern APIs and event-driven services.

Mōte Tūranga | About the Role

We sat down with our Platform Manager, and they let us know the following about the role.

What are 5 day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete?
  • Platform Roadmaps: Define and communicate a clear platform vision and strategy aligned with BNZ’s strategic goals, driving the platform team towards operational excellence.
  • People Leadership: Lead roles such as business analysts and technical specialists through all employee lifecycle stages—attraction, recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding.
