Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a Platform Engineer to own the engineering, automation, operational support and continuous improvement of critical platform services in Auckland. You will help deliver highly available and secure platforms that support deployment, observability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Extensive Linux-based systems administration experience.
• Experience deploying Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts.
• Experience with databases and storage technologies.
• Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery architectures.
• Strong scripting and automation skills.
• Experience using Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Understanding of GitOps and modern platform delivery practices.
• Experience with platform security and access control.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or CloudBees.
• Familiarity with observability platforms (Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience in regulated enterprise environments and cloud/container ecosystems.
