Westpac New Zealand is seeking a Platform Engineer to support ServiceNow deployment and ongoing platform improvements. You will work across SMART Squad and Service Visibility, driving automation, integration, and CMDB/Discovery activities within the ITOM space.
The role requires 2+ years of platform engineering experience, a tertiary IT qualification, and a broad technical skillset across infrastructure services. Collaborative delivery and strong communication are essential.
We have two Squads involved in the implementation of ServiceNow within Westpacrequiring Platform Engineerassistance, as follows:
SMART Squad: Responsible for implementing and managing the ServiceNow Platform
Service Visibility: Responsibility for the ITOM application and CMDB within ServiceNow
As a member of this cross-functional team you will provideexpertisein platform engineering to improve the automation and integration of the ServiceNow platform. We are looking for a technical all-rounder who has a broad understanding of the IT infrastructure stack and can drive the successful completion of discovery, servicemappingand automated integrations with our ServiceNow platform.
Leadandimplement integration of ServiceNow with other applications
Maintain/upgrade existing mid-server applications (Windows virtual machines)
Contribute to architectural designs
Help teams adopt ServiceNow
Assistin the setup and maintenance of Discovery, Service Mapping and CMDB Integrations.
Assistwith troubleshooting of infrastructure specific issues, including collaboration with the wider engineering community
Assess, analyse, develop,documentand implement changes based on requests for change
Excellent understanding of trouble shootingmethodologyto provide root cause analysis for major impacting service and operational problems
Lead and/orassistswith the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures
Define testing requirements and direct these tasks – assuming responsibility for the platform quality for the project or work request
Establish strong, productive working relationships with the wider business
Act as an ambassador for the group and profession at all timesin delivery and behaviours
Ensures full transparency of work to enable engineering squads to fully understand the options available to them
Good understanding of technology risks and associated controls
Identify, surface risks, and collaborate with Technology Risk Services to address risk gaps
Support risk management initiatives and practices in your service area and across Core Infrastructure service group
Coordinate andfacilitatethe resolution of technology issues and incidents for the group
Act as Risk Champion for the group while supporting the Service Owner uplift risk management awareness and maturity
2+ years as aPlatform Engineer
Tertiary level qualifications in IT, IS or associated disciplines or equivalent
Experience of agile methodologies and best practice – Scrum, Kanban,SAFeetc.
Broad skillset and/or awareness across a variety of technologies, in particular infrastructure services
