Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Plastics Surgery Outpatients nurse at Hutt Hospital to organise, prepare and run clinics, including a nurse-led dressing clinic. You will assist in the Procedure Suite for local anaesthetic procedures and support the surgeon during operations, collaborating with the wider team to deliver excellent patient care.

The role is based in the Hutt Valley region, with a small, supportive team and a dynamic clinical environment focused on whānau-centred care

Qualifications

• Current NZ registration and annual practicing certificate.
• 2 years post grad surgical experience.
• Experience in Plastics Surgery and wound management/or general surgery/theatre desirable.
• Ability to provide day to day nursing support to Consultants, Registrars, clinics and outpatient services, along with excellent communication is essential.

Responsibilities

• Independent management of a nurse-led dressing clinic.
• Prepare patients for local anaesthetic plastic surgical procedures and assist during operations.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
