Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Christchurch Hospital seeks motivated Registered Nurses to join our hand, breast and plastic surgery team on permanent contracts. Two positions exist for 0.6FTE and 0.8FTE, with a comprehensive orientation and a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Shifts are rostered across Monday to Sunday, including mornings, afternoons and nights, providing an opportunity to expand surgical nursing skills and wound care expertise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years surgical nursing experience.
• Wound care and/or plastic burns experience.
• Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for hand, breast and plastic surgery patients.
• Support wound management and burn care as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Work across morning, afternoon and night shifts as rostered.
• Contribute to orientation and ongoing professional development.

About the Service

Our specialty service cares for patients requiring hand, breast and plastic surgery. We also specialise in wound management and are the Regional Burn Centre for the South Island.

The service operates Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster with shifts rostered across morning, afternoon and nights.

About You

• 3+ years Surgical Experience
• Wound care and/or Plastic Burns experience
• Ability to work across all shifts - Morning, Afternoon and Nights
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Can work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks
• Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zea land with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
