Job summary

Christchurch Hospital is seeking a Plastic Surgeon to join the Plastic Surgery team on a fixed-term basis to provide sabbatical cover during 2027. Applications welcome for either the three-month period or the full six-month term.

You will work within a tertiary teaching hospital, collaborating with colleagues across specialties to deliver high-quality patient-focused care. The role includes clinics, theatre work, and teaching, with participation in meetings and quality activities.

Qualifications

• Specialist registration in Plastic Surgery or eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Current Annual Practising Certificate, where applicable.
• Postgraduate training in Plastic Surgery.
• Experience in tertiary teaching centres desirable.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinics, operating theatre activity and acute Plastic Surgery duties.
• Teaching, audits and continuing medical education participation.
