Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Auckland, New Zealand seeks an experienced Scheduler/Planner to manage scheduling across infrastructure projects. The role includes pre-baseline reviews, progress reporting, and developing acceleration programmes to mitigate delays.

You will coordinate with client-side stakeholders to build an Integrated Master Schedule linked to the main contractor’s programme. Ideal candidates have a tertiary degree in engineering or PM and at least 5 years of infrastructure scheduling

Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree in Engineering, Construction, Building or Project Management.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Scheduler / Planner on Infrastructure projects.
  • On-site construction experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end construction and project processes.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project; knowledge of Asta or similar software advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Valid working rights in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scheduling services across diverse Infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct Pre-baseline reviews of contractor’s programmes to check adherence to the required contractual requirements and industry standard scheduling practices.
  • Prepare progress update reports and highlight key schedule risks and opportunities to the clients.
  • Recommend corrective action and create acceleration programmes in case of major delays.
  • Arrange meetings with multiple client-side stakeholders to understand their inputs and deliverables during the project and create an Integrated Master Works Programme including all these dependencies linked to Main Contractor’s programme.
  • To provide sound advice to the clients during all phases of the project regarding the most efficient timelines of carrying out multi-staged complex construction projects.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Scheduler / Planner on Infrastructure projects
  • Candidates with prior on-site working experience on construction projects will be preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end construction and project processes
  • Professional proficiency in P6 (Primavera) and MS Project. Knowledge of Asta or other programming software is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.
  • Preferable large-scale infrastructure project experience
  • Valid working rights in New Zealand
