Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking a Pilot Vehicle Driver to support our road sweeper team on a 6-month fixed term contract in Greymouth, NZ. You will help keep work sites moving safely by supporting sweeper operations and ensuring traffic and site rules are followed.

Ideal candidates stay calm, communicate clearly, and prioritise safety while working closely with the crew. Daily vehicle checks and adherence to traffic management plans are essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Class 1 driver licence required.
• Experience driving for work, ideally in civil/road maintenance environments.
• Strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and awareness around live traffic.
• Clear communication skills and a reliable, team-focused attitude.
• Availability to work a 6-month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities

• Pilot the vehicle to support sweeper operations in active work zones.
• Maintain safe distances and communicate clearly with traffic, pedestrians, and the crew.
• Collaborate with the sweeper operator and site crew to keep jobs running safely.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report faults or hazards promptly.
• Follow traffic management plans and Fulton Hogan safety requirements at all times.

We're looking for a Pilot Vehicle Driver to support our road sweeper team on a 6-month fixed term contract. In this role, you'll help keep worksites moving safely and smoothly by supporting sweeper operations on the road and making sure traffic and site requirements are followed.

This is a role for someone who stays calm, communicates clearly, and takes safety seriously when it counts. You'll work closely with the crew, back the team on the ground, and play a key part in delivering Good Work every day.

• Drive the pilot vehicle to support road sweeper operations across active work zones.
• Maintain Safe distances, clear communication and strong awareness of traffic, pedestrians and site activity.
• Work Closely with the sweeper operator and site crew to keep jobs running safely and efficiently.
• Carry Out daily vehicle checks and report any faults, hazards or incidents promptly.
• Follow Traffic management plans, site instructions and Fulton Hogan safety requirements at all times.

• A Full and clean Class 1 New Zealand driver licence.
• Experience Driving for work, ideally in civil, infrastructure or road maintenance environments.

• Availability To work a 6-month fixed term contract and carry out the inherent requirements of the role.
