Job summary

We are looking for reliable pick packers to join our team in Hornby & Rolleston, New Zealand. You will initially work at the Hornby site with training, then transition to the Fresh Distribution Centre in Rolleston to support the Christmas uplift. The role involves cold, temperature-controlled picking, scanning and heavy lifting, with full training provided.

Hours: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun 3:30pm–12 Midnight. Pay: $26.10 per hour, paid weekly.

Qualifications

• Reliable with strong attendance and willing to work over Christmas/New Year
• Previous pick-packing or warehouse experience preferred
• Physically fit with ability to lift heavy objects

• Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team

About the position

We are looking for reliable and hardworking pick packers to join our team in Hornby & Rolleston

You will initially work at the Hornby site while completing your training. Around the end of November you will transition across to the Fresh Distribution Centre in Rolleston to support the busy Christmas uplift. The team is expected to work through Christmas and New Year breaks.

At the Hornby site, you will be required to operate Jiffy's, Rf Scan products, stack them onto your pallets and wrap them. This is a physical repetitive position that requires attention to detail (full training provided)

Once you transition to the Fresh DC in Rolleston, you will be working in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 2°C, picking and preparing fresh produce orders.

Key responsibilities include

• Picking produce crates efficiently and accurately
• Scanning and sorting orders for dispatch
• Using voice-picking headsets
• Completing quality checks on fresh produce
• Identifying and reporting any product quality issues
• Working efficiently and productively to meet daily targets
• Regular heavy lifting and manual handling

• PPE will be provided for working in the cold environment.

We're looking for people who

• Are reliable and have strong attendance (available to work over the Christmas and New Year break)
• Can work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Are comfortable working in a cold, temperature-controlled environment
• Are physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting
• Have previous pick-packing or warehouse experience
• Ideally have experience working in a cold store environment
• Can follow instructions and work well as part of a team
• Take pride in accuracy and product quality
